Our working method

Thanks to our extensive experience in both photography and horses, we have created a pleasant working method that guarantees the best possible service.

These are outlined below:

Before

  • We discuss and select a package that suits your needs. Your ideas and expectations are key at this stage. A location, time and date is also selected and planned at this stage.
  • Once the package and price are agreed there is a 50% advance as a non-returnable deposit. The remaining amount is payable on the day of the photo shoot by bank transfer or cash.
  • A few days before the photo shoot you will contacted to discuss the final details and check the agreements made.

On the day itself

  • All preparations for your horse and you should be done prior to the arranged date and time of the shoot (washed, brushed, knotted, saddled if necessary and that you are wearing your chosen clothing). This will ensure a smooth photo shoot and no unnecessary stress to your horse
  • Once on location the best spots for the photo shoot will be scouted and agreed upon. If it is in or around the stables, ensure that the area is neat and tidy. For the best result, we want a quiet, uncluttered background.
  • The key to a good shoot is to work calmly and take time to capture the best moments. Your vision is key to this and there will be constant communication between the photographer and the client to ensure this is achieved. It is also key that there is an additional person at the shoot to draw your horse’s attention and steer their gaze.
  • Depending on the package you have chosen, we estimate approximately 30 minutes to an hour for each part of the shoot. Make sure you don't have an appointment immediately after the photography session as working with animals can be unpredictable and it can sometimes take a while.
  • When moving between shoot sites it may be possible to view the digital raw pictures to check the right look is being captured.
  •  At the end of the photoshoot, the remaining 50% balance is to be paid.

After the photoshoot

  • After the photo shoot you will receive a personal preview link with the results between 5 and 14 working days.
  • In this preview link you can select your favourite photos. If you want more photos than your chosen package, you can add additions at this point.
  • Once any additional payment is received you will receive a We-transfer link which you will use to download your pictures.

Practical information

  • Your horse must be ready at the agreed time so that we can start smoothly.
  • In addition to you, there should also be 1 or 2 other people present at the shoot to help with horse gaze.
  • For the best result, the head collar or any tack must be clean.
  • With a snaffle bridle, the reins may be loosened on one side, but with a bar and snaffle, reins give the best result.
  • When shooting in the arena, it is best if it is levelled in advance.
  • While we try our best to fulfil any bookings on the date chosen, we cannot proceed with photo shoots in the rain. If it is raining on the day of your booked shoot we will try to reschedule as soon as possible.
